The holidays…how will you make your house a home this holiday season?

Believe it or not, we are headed into the last part of the year and holiday season at about 100 mph! Do you stress out during this time of year with all the preparations, planning, cooking and shopping on top of everything else you do daily?

Some of us handle this time of year better than others. I, for one, am not great at the holiday season. I want to enjoy, decorate, bake and do all the fun things, but for the past few years, I have not done much of anything. Call it the empty nest or living in the country and no one will see the decorations or call it exhaustion. I’m not sure what it is. But this year, we want to help you enjoy your holiday season by providing tips, tricks and ideas to make it better!

Simple Gift Giving Ideas:

If you are like me, I want to pick out a special gift for everyone on my list. I look for a gift that will relate and connect with them. Therefore, this will be our first topic as it takes time to gather the gifts.

I have a lot of people on my list that are friends, family, clients and people that take care of me throughout the year. I want to be sure to thank and spread some holiday cheer to all of them and let them know I appreciate them. These people would be my nail technician, hairdresser, postman, financial advisor, housekeeper, veterinarian, pastor, school secretary. The list can go on and on. But for these people, finding a customized one-of-a-kind gift can be hard and expensive. The following are some ideas that may simplify it for you.

Get a collection nice mugs or glasses, fill them with snacks and goodies as well as maybe a small hand cream or small item that they can use, perhaps a gift card.  If you have your own business that you want to promote, giving a small sample of what product you have along with the snacks. Wrap up the mug or glass in a cute, creative way and have them ready to go so that you can start dropping these off as you see these people leading up to Christmas. I want to be sure that in every gift I give, I somehow share the love of Christ. One way I have found to do this is to include a scripture card in every gift. I read each one and carefully select the scripture card specifically for that person. I also handwrite a little note and sign it. You will be amazed at how far that will go.
